Same route, different ride

nEVER cOAST. and gR=Y oCTOB=R ride the same route. Different day, different time of year.
gR=Y oCTOB=R opens by replaying nEVER cOAST.'s crash sequence as a rewind. Not to pick that story back up, but as a stark reminder to stay aware of what's around you. A sparse spoken-word passage sets the frame, then Vintage comes in.
From there it's grittier, track for track. The first record was a ride. This one is the practice resuming: the same habit in grayer weather, with leaves on the road hiding whatever was already there, and no freewheeling out of a bad call.
Its anchored in the intro/opening passage:
Good stretches, bad ones. They run together. It evens out, but what doesn't is your effort, your drive. Keep pedaling, never coast, because there's no fair weather.
Hence - nEVER cOAST., then gR=Y oCTOB=R.
Bless -
